最近、私が思うこと。それは、みなさんへどれだけの期待をしていいのか?みなさんからは、どれだけ応えてもらえるのか?ということです。
　とても悩みます。18歳から出会ったみなさん。中途で巡り合ったみなさん。採用する、縁を持つということは、期待しないはずがありません。
　私は、今まで、「残業するな。早く帰れ。がんばるな」と、いつも夕方になると言い続けていました。その言葉を真に受ける人はいません。効率よく仕事をしてくださいということを、暗に言っていました。残業時間は、昨年度から比べると、かなり減りました。
　しかし、生産性が上がったというより、それほど人工が掛からない仕事が多かったことの方が、要因として認められます。仕事のやり方、考え方に大きな変化は見られません。
　現状把握、対処的処置、真の原因追及、根本的な是正処置、その後の経過観察、過去の経験を生かす、データ化する、俯瞰して見る等々、何百回言い続けていることか?
　できるようになるのは、とても難しいですね。
　ある程度の社歴を積み重ねることにより、リーダーとして、熟練の技術者として、技能者として、後輩たちをまとめて行ってもらいたいと思っていましたし、やってもらってきました。けれどもこれも、みなさんには、重荷になってくるのですね。
　この状況改善も、とても難しいです。
　私は思います。この国は、とても豊かな国になったのだということを。
　「がんばる」という言葉はあまり好きではありませんが、敢えて使います。
　必死に生きるために頑張らなくても、この国では生きていけます。今日があって、明日がある。これは、日本では当たり前のこととして認知されています。
　でも、世界には、そうでない国がたくさんあるのを知っていますよね。ウクライナ、ガザ、コンゴ、チベット、ウイグル、北朝鮮と、思いつくだけでも、6か国地域が頭に浮かびます。
　当社は、ベトナム、中国、フィリピン、インド、ブラジル等々、多くの外国籍の人たちが集う、多国籍企業になってきました。
　何故彼らは、日本を目指すのでしょうか?落ちぶれた斜陽国ではありますが、それでも未だに、GDPは世界4位、全体の４％を占めている国です。
　正規雇用という概念が無い国もあります。2,3か月置きに、色々な仕事を転々とする国があります。名誉のために国名は言いませんが、彼らの国から見ると、日本は、天国なのだそうです。
　日本は、選り好みしなければ、職には就けます。社会制度がしっかりしています。国が国民を守ってくれます。だから彼らは、日本を目指すのです。
　一所懸命に勉強して、努力して、自分に実力をつけて、何事に対しても、積極的に挑戦し、『できません』とは絶対に言わないのです。出来なくても、『できます』というのです。自分を追い込むのです。だから、出来るようになるように、人の何倍も努力するのです。
　私は、今の恵まれた日本を否定するものでは決してありません。先人の努力により、今の日本が築かれているのですから、感謝すれど、否定などするはずがありません。
　だからこそ、私は心配するのです。
　『うさぎとかめ』の話に例えれば、足の速いうさぎは、のろまのかめを馬鹿にしていました。『自分を超えられるはずが無い』と。
　しかし、結果は、ゴール前で寝ていた隙に、抜かれてしまいました。
　そろそろ『がんばらないと…』という所にいるのではないでしょうか?日本の将来が、とても心配です。

My worries

Recently, I've been thinking about how much I can expect from you all, and how much can you all respond to me?

I'm really worried. I've met you all since you were 18. I've met you all along the way. It's impossible not to have expectations when hiring and having connections with you.

Until now, I've always told you in the evening, "Don't work overtime. Go home early. Don't try too hard." No one takes those words seriously. I was implicitly telling you to work efficiently. Overtime hours have decreased significantly compared to last year.

However, rather than productivity increasing, I think the reason is that there were more jobs that didn't require much manpower. I haven't seen any major changes in the way you work or the way you think.

Understanding the current situation, taking corrective measures, pursuing the true cause, taking fundamental corrective measures, observing the progress afterwards, making use of past experience, turning things into data, looking at things from a bird's-eye view, etc. How many times have I said this?

It's very difficult to become able to do it.
I wanted them to lead their juniors as leaders, skilled engineers, and technicians by building up a certain amount of experience with the company, and I have had them do so. However, this also becomes a burden for you.
It is very difficult to improve this situation.
I think that this country has become a very rich country.
I don't like the word "try your best," but I will use it anyway.
You can live in this country without having to work so hard to survive. There is today, and there is tomorrow. This is recognized as a given in Japan.
But you know that there are many countries in the world where this is not the case. Ukraine, Gaza, Congo, Tibet, Uyghur, and North Korea are just six countries and regions that come to mind.
Our company has become a multinational corporation that brings together many people of foreign nationalities, including Vietnam, China, the Philippines, India, and Brazil.
Why do they aim for Japan? It is a fallen, declining country, but it still has the fourth largest GDP in the world, accounting for 4% of the total.

There are countries that do not have the concept of regular employment. There are countries where people move from one job to another every 2-3 months. I will not mention the name of the country for the sake of honor, but from their country's perspective, Japan is heaven.

In Japan, if you are not picky, you can get a job. The social system is solid. The country protects its people. That is why they aim for Japan.

They study hard, work hard, improve their skills, and actively challenge themselves in anything, never saying "I can't do it." Even if they can't do it, they say "I can do it." They push themselves. That is why they work many times harder than others to be able to do it.

I am in no way denying the blessed Japan of today. The current Japan was built by the efforts of our predecessors, so although we are grateful, there is no way we would deny it.

That is why I am worried.
To use the analogy of the story of the tortoise and the hare, the fast hare made fun of the slow turtle, saying, "There's no way you can surpass me."
But in the end, the hare was overtaken while sleeping just before the finish line.
It's about time we got to the point where we had to "try harder..." I am very worried about the future of Japan.
