2025年9月14日付の日本経済新聞に、一人の人物の記事が掲載された。60歳で定年退職後、学びを再開し、現在75歳となった今も通訳として活動を続けているという。まさに「60歳からの学び」を体現する存在である。
　記事によれば、彼はある時、英語でのコミュニケーションが不可欠なビジネスに携わる機会を得た。必然的に英語を学ぶこととなったが、その学びは単なる言語習得にとどまらず、自己の成長につながり、新しい世界を切り開くきっかけとなった。
　振り返れば、幼い頃に両親から「英語を学びなさい。君の時代には必ず必要になる」と言われ続けてきた。にもかかわらず、本気で学んだのは大学受験の時だけで、その英語は社会で活かせるものではなかった。
　それでも今、不思議なことに毎日英語を学び続けている。可能な限り外国人スタッフとは英語で会話をし、それを自らの訓練と位置づけている。
　世界は混乱し、日本経済も悪化の一途をたどっている。そうした状況に危機感を覚え、2年前からアジアに活路を求め始めた。生き残り、事業を継続していくためである。言うまでもなく、その手段として英語は欠かせない道具だった。
　思い切って外国人スタッフを採用し、現在では日本語を含め6言語に対応できる体制を整えた。ここからが本当の挑戦の始まりである。
　「60歳からの学び」。それは成功か失敗かを超えて、新しい冒険の道を歩むことに他ならない。

There was an article about a person who has been working as interpreter after age 60 years retirement on Sep 14, 2025, Todays' Nihon Keizai newspaper. Now he was 75 years old.

Certainly, learning from age 60th.
It said he had met an opportunity, involved business have to use English communications.
Inevitably, he had be learned.
But thing he learned was used to his growth. To be available to view the new world.

When I was a childhood, my parents had usually said to me 'learn English. Your era should become to need English absolutely.'

After all, I hadn't been learning English until now seriously.
When I was18 years old for exam to university I studied English hard. But that English was only for exam, was not utilize in society.

Despite that's me curiously, I have been learning English every day.
As possible as I can, bear in mind to speak native English staff in English.
Namely, it is becoming my training, too.

What happen to me?
You know, currently, there are messing up here and there in the world.
According to that cause, Japanese economic conditions are processing further worse.

for ready looming Japan's economic collapse, I had begun to seek something hints to Asia in the past 2 years ago Because I have to live to keep running business.
Needless to say, that why, for me learning English was needful tool to communicate and interact with foreigner.
This time I positively I adopted foreign staff. Currently, we can address 6 language include Japanese in my company.
The real action begins now.
Finally, 'Age 60 years old of learning' starts to the new way of adventure if successful or failure.
